Thèmes de recherche

My research interests concern the conservation of biodiversity in human-impacted landscapes, and the impacts of anthropogenic disturbances such as urbanization on the spatial distribution of species at different spatial scales.

My PhD focuses on the effects of light pollution on nocturnal wildlife, using bats as model species. In particular, I address the following issues:

  • How do bat species respond to landscape-scale level of light pollution in comparison to other land-use pressures?
  • How does artificial lighting affect landscape connectivity in urban landscape? Are current urban corridors efficient to allow the movements of light-sensitive nocturnal species?
  • What outdoor lighting management can be done at a local scale to limit the adverse effects of artificial lighting on bat species movement and activity?
